"Chef Zack Sklar Unveils Plans for $17M Event Venue in Bloomfield Township"
For the residents of Berkshire Rd and the Bloomfield Township, this journey started with the publication of an article. Then we received the above postcard to "Meet the Neighbors."

The developer chose to keep everything secret, despite working with the township for over a year.
Beautiful Venue
Wrong Location
The land intended for this development is not zoned for restaurants with a liquor license, banquet halls, or open air event usage*.

*These proposed uses are not supported by the master plan and do not benefit the closest neighbors and residents. Allowing any of these uses would require Bloomfield Township to change the zoning ordinance. To do so for this development is spot zoning.
Why We Want it Stopped

Noise.
600 people create a lot of noise. Cars for 600 people create a lot of noise and a lot of traffic.
Outdoor event activities will impact families who bought property in Bloomfield Township, and this bucolic neighborhood because of the serene up-North feeling.

Traffic
The township only requires 130 parking spots ... but with 600 attendees there could be up to 600 cars for a large event.
Franklin Road can not support this additional traffic, and Square Lake is already a parking lot many times of day. The zoning ordinance does not allow restaurants or banquet halls on secondary roads.
